TO ALL BUILDING ENGINEERS

 

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE FOLLOWING TASKS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BY THE MIDDLE OF NOVEMBER, (where applicable), AT THE PROPERTIES YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR.

 

1.     Dry fire protection sprinkler systems winterized.  

2.    Boilers are serviced and fired up.  

3.     Cooling towers either drained or the open basin heaters checked and set.

4.     All heat tracers’ breakers are “ON”.

5.     Landscape sprinklers winterized.

6.     Fire hydrants are serviced.

7.     Fresh air supply units’ coil valve controls are set and valves function
function is correct.  (Same for MUA units with hot water coils.)

8.     Where applicable extend heating hours, including weekends.

9.     MUA units’ gas heaters are checked for proper operation, controls are set
and calibrated.

10.     Freeze-stats for all relevant coils are checked and set.

11.    All heating baseboards checked and set for proper operation.

12.  Catch basins cleaned out and flushed, (especially at properties with food
establishments).

13.  Outside doors’ locks and hinges lubricated.

14.  Sufficient amounts of the ice melting compounds ordered.

15.  Snow removal arrangements made.

16.  Hose bibs are taken care off.


PS.  Please keep adjusting outside light controls to reflect shorter daytime.  (Your best guide is the weather channel - it shows the time of sunsets and sunrises).
